Our Belief

We believe that following Jesus is both practical and leads to a joy-filled life in our current day.  We worship the one holy and loving God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit eternally.

 

We believe in Jesus Christ, the word of God who became flesh.  His life, death, and resurrection is the basis of our hope.

 

We believe in the Holy Spirit who is the source of our life in Christ.  The Holy Spirit is given freely to all who follow Jesus to guide and empower.

 

We believe that all scripture is inspired by God and is a trustworthy guide for life.  We interpret all scripture through the life and teaching of Jesus.

 

We believe all humans are created in God’s image and are loved by God.  Humans are created to be in relationship with God and others.

 

We believe that sin and destructive patterns destroy our relationship with God and others.

 

We believe that God heals this broken relationship by grace as demonstrated in the person and life of Jesus Christ.   Salvation is given to all who accept this great grace by following Jesus.

 

We believe in water baptism for those who choose to follow Jesus.  This outward act demonstrates the inner desire of a person to follow Jesus.  Baptism symbolizes God’s cleansing from sin and a restored relationship with God.

 

We believe that the mission of the church is to invite others to follow Jesus.

 

We believe that reconciliation and peace is to be taught and practiced in all relationships.

 

We believe we live in this world as pilgrims to care for all of creation.
